Hypno-Stone Massage This profound journey begins with deep breathing, rocking of the body, and a relaxation trance induction. After the hypnotic induction, a warm stone massage is given. The results of this technique have been called "phenomenal". As the body sinks deeper into relaxation, the conscious mind automatically relaxes and therefore becomes more receptive to calming, healing suggestions. These suggestions are in accord with releasing stress and tension from specific areas of tension in the individual client’s body. Targeting the hypnotic suggestions to areas of tension in the client's body, allows a greater level of release to occur within the musculature structure. The body will begin sinking deeper and deeper into a state of total peace and relaxation. Body-Cupping Massage The strong vacuum mimics the rolling action of deep-tissue massage without any discomfort. Cupping is beneficial for relief from muscle spasms, back pain, sciatica and arthritic and rheumatic problems. By stimulating the skin and underlying muscles, it helps release area specific toxins that have accumulated and encourages circulation of both blood and lymph vessels. Prior to applying the cup, oil is administered to the skin to create smooth gliding movements. Cupping can be used on the neck, shoulders, back, sacral area, hip, abdomen, thigh, upper arms and calves. The sensation of cupping is often characterized as deeply warm and relaxing. Massage cupping is also effective in treating cellulite. A light suction provides drainage, while heavier application can be used to stimulate circulation and loosen "dimpling." SomaTuning This technnique was created by Janis Arch and Jo Gentry. Our research work with sound and vibration led us to create an innovative bodywork. By applying the vibration and pressure of tuning forks to accupressure points on the body, we can create deep relaxation. We believe the ancient power of sound and vibratioin is the leading edge in a "new" way of working with stress reduction, altered states and the human body. Warm Stone Massage Warm Stone Massage creates profound relaxation. The warmth from the stones penetrates the muscle fiber, softens it and allows the muscle to release tension more efficiently and quickly. It is our recommended massage for cold winter months. It is the next best thing to a warm island beach. Reflexology Reflexology is the science which deals with the principal that there are reflexes in the hands and feet which are associated with, or connected to, all the various systems, organs and glands of the body. Reflexology relaxes the client and stimulates the body's healing resources. Deep Tissue Massage This type of massage releases the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas. It is called deep tissue, because it focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. Acupressure/shiatsu refers to a system of bodywork which uses pressure on specific points to balance an individual's energy and bring about physical improvements. Tui Na "tui" means to push, "na" means to lift and squeeze, Tui Na is an ancient Chinese system. It facilitates healing by regulating the circulation of blood and Qi ( vital energy). Steve Phan is an expert in this massage. Swedish Massage Swedish Massage is an oil massage using five types of manipulation: effleurage (long strokes), petrissage (kneading), friction (deep circular movement), tapotement (percussion), and vibration to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and relieve tension.
